The United States makes up less than 5 percent of the population on earth, yet we easily consume over 30 percent of its resources, according to Sierra Club. Instead of feeling paralyzed by this sobering statistic, on April 22, let it inspire action.
Every day of the year, we can protect our planet by making smart, compassionate, eco-friendly choices. We can support companies that make the environment a priority—from the grocery stores we visit, to the banks we use, to the siding and trim that clad our homes.
Choosing James Hardie® siding and trim means selecting an eco-friendly exterior option, made from sustainable raw materials. The fiber cement building products are made of sand, cellulose fiber, Portland cement, and water (which is recycled up to four times during the manufacturing process).
James Hardie makes it a point to set up its nine North American manufacturing facilities to better serve local markets reducing their environmental footprint. The company also uses factory-finished siding and trim products with ColorPlus® Technology reducing jobsite liquid waste and exposure to volatile organic compounds (VOCs) to combat air pollution.
In a recent Green Builder survey, pros voted for their favorite green building materials and James Hardie’s eco-friendly exterior siding options came out on top.
We make decisions every day that affect our environment, and today is the perfect day to reevaluate our eco-friendly choices that can keep our air, land and water clean. Change happens with small changes and we at James Hardie are happy to be a part of the green movement.
Happy Earth Day from James Hardie, a company that cares about conservation.
